Hi there, readers!
I just wanted to quickly share a shout out to our friends at Beltrami Electric Cooperative, who just pulled off another FANTASTIC electric vehicle event on Sept. 15. Minnkota was lucky enough to be invited to help out with the EV Car Show, so my communications copilot Emily and I hit the road that afternoon for Bemidji.
Rain was teasing the event organizers all morning, so the fun was moved into the co-op’s garage, which served as a lovely spot to display 15 EVs from around the region. Between the surplus of EVs and the nearly 200 attendees, the house was packed and hoppin’! EV drivers were thrilled to talk to the public about their Minnesota experiences in an EV, and guests were just as pleased to pepper them with questions:
“Doesn’t it take forever to charge?” “Not too much of a problem when it happens in your garage while you’re sleeping.”
“But it can’t tow anything, right?” “My two jet skis beg to differ.”
“How does it do in the winter?” “How does instant electric heat and incredible handling on snow sound?”
We even got to experience a live panel discussion from EV drivers, who fielded great questions from a curious crowd. On top of all that, we had a chance to meet new friends, chat with cooperative colleagues, sing the praises of the off-peak charging program, ride electric bikes, and eat a couple (maybe a few) cookies – what more could a couple of Minnkota communications specialists ask for?
The vibe of the event is best described in photos, so enjoy all of the following that we captured during the party. Congratulations to Beltrami Electric Cooperative on an excellent event!
